Our regional manager just returned from visiting partner organizations across Europe. His report was very encouraging: 14 Bible Societies want us to record languages (in the field and virtually); 4 Bible Societies want to start listening programs to reach refugees in their countries; 6 Bible Societies want to start Deaf translation/recording projects in their countries; and 9 Bible Societies want to do Military BibleStick programs with their militaries. Please pray as these projects progress, that God would have His way so His Word can reach everyone everywhere by any means.
Praise the Lord for the completion of the Bashkir New Testament translation. The Russian Academy of Sciences is now reviewing it. Pray for a positive response in order to gain an official stamp of approval, which would help the Bashkir community to esteem the New Testament even more. Then, pray for the recording of the Bashkir New Testament, which will take place later this year; for safety for the recording team and local people who will participate in the recording.
Please continue to pray for those working with refugees in southeastern Europe – that the BibleStick would continue to play a significant role in the lives of the refugees who cannot or do not read their language.
Pray for opportunities to use the Audio New Testament to reach the Komi-Zyrian-speaking people who need to know the Good News.
Because of the extreme difficulty in working in the following regions, language and country names have been changed or omitted to protect our partners and their workers.
Please continue to pray for the progress of the Atta (pseudonym) recording as it has been delayed. This area of the Caucasus Mountains in southern Russia has been torn by multiple wars. Pray that there will be many opportunities to partner with workers who are sharing the Gospel among this people group; for the safety of the recording team as they conduct a research trip to one of the deadliest parts of this region for Christians; and for reliable contacts in order to accomplish the recording of a language referred to as ‘Z.’
Praise God for the workers who are able to distribute BibleSticks to the men, women, and children who are fleeing the violence in Syria and Iraq, and disciple them; and praise God that many of the people are starting to gather in groups openly, to listen to God’s Word.
Praise God for the couriers who successfully carried in BibleSticks and Mini Proclaimers for the Bible Society of Palestine. Pray for three blind women in Bethlehem who were among those to receive BibleSticks; and for the remaining BibleSticks and Mini Proclaimers that will be used in the West Bank and Gaza to comfort hurting people with the message of Jesus Christ.
Pray for protection for discipleship teams using the Proclaimer, as they boldly witness in a country that is very hostile to the Gospel.
