September 18th Prayer: Africa

Ghana, Mali, and Rwanda:
We praise God for the wonderful reports recently received from partners in these countries. Many people engaged in FCBH Bible listening groups testify to the power of God’s Word and how it has transformed them personally and as a community, bringing them healing and peace! Thank you for your prayers!

Please continue to pray for peace for the people of this country. Attacks continue and there is much suffering and loss of life. Villagers are forced to flee with next to nothing. A UN refugee agency reported that nearly 10,000 people have fled, seeking refuge in other countries; some sleep in schools and churches; and children suffer from poor health.

West Africa:
Please pray for the people affected by Ebola that they will receive the help they desperately need. According to the CDC, the 2014 outbreak is the largest in history, currently spread across four countries: Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone. More than 3,000 cases of the disease have been confirmed and nearly 2,000 deaths have been reported. Quarantines, closures, and restrictions have hampered the transport of food and goods. The inadequate supply of medical services is compounding the suffering.
