New Survey Shows Gap in Bible Knowledge
Although the Bible is the best-selling book of all-time, a recent survey by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life shows that 55% of Americans can't name the four Gospels of the New Testament.
The U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey recently polled more than 3,400 people on a series of wide-ranging historical, literary, political and religious questions. The survey revealed that only 36% of Americans read the Bible on a weekly basis, outside of religious services.
Indiana Police Officer Finishes 3,800 Mile Cross-Country Bicycle Ride
A police officer from Indiana arrived in Yorktown, Va., Sept. 14th, after a cross-country bicycle ride to raise awareness and funds for Audio Bibles for poor and illiterate people around the world.
Troy Love of Columbus, Indiana, started his ride August 1, 2010, by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Now, 3,785 miles and 45 days later, Love raised over $50,000 for solar-powered Audio Bibles, called Proclaimers.

Troy Love is Pedaling across the country for Proclaimers
Troy Love is a man on a mission.
August 1st, Love crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and began riding his bicycle east through San Francisco. Over the next 52 days, Love will ride about 3,785 miles to Yorktown, Va., raising awareness and funds for solar-powered Audio Bibles, called Proclaimers®.
A Proclaimer® is a dedicated audio player that can be used in the world's most remote and rugged locations. Designed by the non-profit Audio Bible ministry, Faith Comes By Hearing, the Proclaimer®'s embedded microchip is pre-loaded with an audio recording of New Testaments in over 400 foreign languages of the world. Indigenous pastors, priests and community leaders use these Audio Bibles to start Bible listening groups. Villagers in groups up to 300 gather around to listen and then discuss what they've heard. By interacting with the Word of God, people come to know and follow the God of the Bible.
