Thriving in His Word

“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” And he [Jesus] said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.”Mark 4:23-24

God’s audible Word is a gift that reveals the path to everlasting life. It starts as a tiny seed, thrown upon the ground, and takes root in the hearts that are ready to receive. If allowed, it will continue to flourish and bring forth the fruit of the Spirit. The following testimonies give witness to God’s power!

He—the Word—has the power to impart.

“Over a year ago, I abandoned my church over a disagreement. I felt justified in my anger, and as a result, I refused to go back. My wife and children continued to go to church without me. A good friend brought me an Audio Bible, and I began listening to the Word in private. When I heard Romans chapter eight, I broke down in tears. I realized that if I died with this spirit of anger, I would not see my Lord. I pleaded for forgiveness—from God and those I rejected—and returned to my church. I give thanks to God for bringing me this Audio Bible.”

He—the Word—has the power to rebuke.

A man was desperate to be rid of the evil spirit that possessed and tormented him. Neither the village shaman nor the priests were able to draw the evil spirit out. Then an Audio Bible arrived at the local church. When the man heard the words of Jesus spoken in his language, the demon came out of him, and he was set free. News spread quickly, and villagers from all around came to witness His transformation and hear God speak for themselves. Blessed be God for His great love! We thank Him for His Word that has brought liberation to this man and salvation to his village.

He—the Word—has the power to multiply.

“My name is Nina, and I am 12 years old. One afternoon while on the way home from school, I saw a large gathering of people outside the door of a local church. In the center was a small, black device. It piqued my curiosity, so I drew closer. To my surprise, the device was speaking in my language. I had never heard about Jesus until that day, but knew I wanted to hear more. After school, I continued to stop by and listen along until my mother asked me why I was getting home so late. I told her about the listening group and the Audio Bible. The next day, she went to the church and listened too. After that, our whole family joined the group. We are discovering many things in the Word of God that we did not know before. We thank all those who are sending these devices to our community.”

He—the Word—has the power to divert.

One woman named Victoria said, “I always was a troublemaker and disobedient to my grandparents, who raised me. They were strict, but I wanted to live by my own rules. Despite my stubbornness, I attended church with them and started going to an Audio Bible listening group. As we listened to 2 Thessalonians, chapter three, God convicted me. Right then, I changed my attitude and decided to follow Christ. I am grateful to those who brought this Audio Bible to my doorstep. It has brought hope to our community and me.”

1 Peter 2:25 says, “For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”

He—the Word—has the power to reward.

“I have been attending church since I was a boy,” Thomas told us, “but as I became an adult and acquired a profitable business, I began to live a life that was displeasing in the sight of God. Eventually, I stopped going to church. I engaged in illegal business transactions, which led to my company’s collapse. My kids were thrown out of school because I could not afford to pay their fees, and my family could no longer depend on me. Life became unbearable.

“My pastor heard about my misfortune and came to visit me. He reminded me that God is the only source of hope and blessing through His Son Jesus Christ and encouraged me to return to the church. During our conversation, he told me about an Audio Bible listening program and invited me to go with him.

“During our listening time, we learned how to be honest in our dealings as children of God. John 15 tells us that if we humble ourselves before God, then our Father in heaven, who has already chosen us, will give us whatever we ask in His name.

“Today, I am running a successful and honest business as I apply what I learned about stewardship during those listening sessions. I thank God for the opportunity to hear His Word, which has transformed me into a living testimony.”

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

He—the Word—has the power to renew.

In Chile, Johanna began watching Gospel Film clips while confined to her house due to the lockdown. She found them on her aunt’s Facebook page. She was so drawn to the story that she reserved them for moments when she could be uninterrupted in her viewing. “It was my moment with Jesus…the images seemed so real to me that it was as if I had been there and felt my body shudder with each word He spoke.” Now she intentionally spends time reading the Bible and learning more about the life of Jesus, committing herself to learn how to live a life of a disciple. “Thanks to the words of Jesus and seeing Him so vividly, my whole life is changing.”
