This fellowship of over 140 national Bible Societies includes ministries more than 200 years old and is the major distributor of printed Bibles throughout the world, including third world countries. They have more than 400 translations of the Bible, plus an additional 400 of the New Testament. These more than 800 translations represent 90% of the world’s population.
At their 1988 World Assembly, UBS recognized that over 50% of the world’s population could not be reached through the printed page. A decision was made to make reaching the oral majority a priority. This was the beginning of the partnership between Faith Comes By Hearing and UBS. Faith Comes By Hearing now works with UBS in over 85 countries, focusing on listening programs in churches and villages.
