Testimony From Guatemala

Santa Apolonia is located in the department of Chimaltenango, 97 kilometers from the capitol city.

Services are every Sunday at 2pm.  We had very little attendance, but when we were given the New Testament in Kakchiquel and we started listening in the church, the brothers and sisters started arriving earlier.  Also, the ones who almost never attended started attending.  The brothers and sisters have been motivated because we are hearing the Word of God in our own language.  Now all the members arrive on time to listen to the cassettes.

One of the blessings we’ve had in our church is that people who don’t know God have started to come.  They stop at the door to listen and like Faith Comes by Hearing says, five people have accepted and are now regularly attending services.  We’ve obtained prosperity in the church and it’s growing in number.  Before, there were 30 people attending and now there are forty-seven.

When we heard Acts 2:1 (1When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together inG one place. 2Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.), the brothers and sisters started to ask and comment on the body and how the Holy Spirit had filled this place.

So we decided that we should be united in trying to obtain the Holy Spirit in us and to live in harmony.  Thanks to God and His Word, through the cassettes, the church is more unified and we understand the Word.
