Scripture Union

Founded in England in 1867, this ministry has offices in over 130 countries. Scripture Union has an extensive network of volunteers working in schools and camps to evangelize and disciple youth in each of these countries. While attending meetings in Africa, Morgan Jackson, International Director for Faith Comes By Hearing, found that many leaders had come to Christ and were discipled by Scripture Union during their school years.

In early 2000, it became clear that many public schools were open to including a Faith Comes By Hearing program as a part of their normal weekly curriculum. So far, 1,000 schools in Ghana, 300 in Kenya, 500 in Paraguay, and thousands more throughout Latin America, Africa, and Asia have Faith Comes By Hearing programs. This means that Scripture Union and other partners can expand their efforts from reaching only some of the students in a school to reaching the entire school.

Scripture Union's goal is to have Faith Comes By Hearing programs active in every school they work with and in Kenya, Ghana, and India alone, this represents almost 100,000 schools!
