Proclaimer FAQs and Troubleshooting
The information below will help you understand your Proclaimer better and answer some of the common questions you may have.
Q: Why does my Proclaimer display "Disk Error," "Data Error," or
"Searching, searching ... "?
A: This can indicate that the language chip has been corrupted and needs to be replaced. To receive a replacement language chip, contact Customer Service.
Q: Why does the power light flash red continuously when the Proclaimer is plugged in for charging?
A: This indicates that the Proclaimer's battery is not charging. To fix this, unplug the Proclaimer from the adapter; turn the hand crank (located on the left-hand side) for 1 ½ minutes; plug Proclaimer back in to the adapter. If power light still blinks red continuously, repeat above process three times. If problem persists after this, contact Customer Service.
Q: Why does the power light flash red-green alternately after the Proclaimer's battery is charged, and will ONLY run when plugged into the adapter?
A: This can indicate a defective battery. To fix this, unplug the Proclaimer from the adapter; turn the hand crank for about 1 ½ minutes; plug Proclaimer back in to begin charging again. If problem persists, contact Customer Service to replace the battery.
Q: Can I replace my Proclaimer's battery with any similar battery?
A: No, a battery provided only by Faith Comes By Hearing should be used. Contact Customer Service to replace the battery.
Q: What does it mean if my Proclaimer only plays for a short time?
A: The battery is probably not fully charged. The battery has an average life of only 3-4 months. If the Proclaimer was unused for this length of time, you will need to fully charge the battery according to the instructions.
