"It Helped Us Get the Message Out"

"It helped us get the message out when our language would not suffice," shared a mission team member from Christ Community Church in Illinois. With Christ Community's three locations supporting over 30 mission trips per year, mission team members have dealt with the challenge of communicating on the mission field. Now, since finding out about Faith Comes By Hearing's Every Church Every Village program, they have had the opportunity to take Proclaimers® in the heart language of the people into Haiti, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, and Brazil, and have discovered how powerful it is to share God's Word in audio with people in their own mother tongue.

Every Church Every Village is funded by donors with a heart to reach the nations with God's Word. Through this program, churches, teams, ministries, and individuals can take Proclaimers®—available in over 400 languages—FREE on their mission trips.

In Sierra Leone, Christ Community Church was able to share Proclaimers® with the Krio, Mende, and Themne speaking people. One of the Proclaimers® plays outside of a dental clinic where the people listen to God's Word as they wait to be seen. Another of the Proclaimers® is used in the waiting area of the optometrist's clinic. A young man named Issa commented, "For us, it is much like television must be for you in the U.S."

Other Proclaimers® were given to Christ Community's partner church in Sierra Leone where they are used for small group study, teaching, and church planting. Another Proclaimer® was shared at a conference attended by women from throughout Sierra Leone.

Tom Linder, a team member from Christ Community said, "It helps because people will be able to listen to the Word in a world in which so very many people cannot read."

From Bangladesh, a worker in the field shared, "Thank you so much for the four Proclaimers® to share the Gospel so the people in the village can hear the truth. I delivered them to our two women leaders and two men leaders so they could use them in a maximum way to bring people to Christ and start new churches."

And from Haiti, just one month before the devastating quake in January, we received a report from two girls, ages 12 and 17. They started their own listening group and sent in a handwritten note, "We are starting the Proclaimer® and are listening together chapter by chapter. Anyone who doesn't understand, they are asking questions . . . when we are finished, we close the Proclaimer® and we are praying together."

They then list the 27 members of the club by name – Matellus, Vinan, Francois, Andris, Goerges, Blanc, Alexandre, and others. One can't help but wonder where these young people are now, and hope that God's Word in their hearts and minds has helped sustain them.

Since the quake, dozens of churches and other organizations are responding to the great need in Haiti and taking in Proclaimers® through Every Church Every Village to provide spiritual and emotional comfort and hope along with supplies and aid.

Faith Comes By Hearing has shared over 500,000 Audio Bibles with people around the world. 12,567 Proclaimers® have been carried into 118 different countries through Every Church Every Village alone.
