Faith Comes By Hearing now has Scripture Recordings in 709 Languages!
Including Yucuna, spoken in Colombia by 1,800 people
Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) has added six new Audio New Testament recordings this month, expanding their unmatched catalog of recorded Scriptures to 709 languages. Spoken in virtually every country in the world, these recordings as a whole represent a potential outreach to more than 5.7 billion people - or in other words, three-quarters of the world's population.
The new releases are:
- Adioukrou - Cote d'Ivoire
- Alur - Uganda
- Fulfulde Caka (Central) - Nigeria
- Kinyaturu - Tanzania
- Kumyk - Russia
- Yucuna - Colombia
Combined, these newest releases represent more than 13.4 million people who now have God's Word in audio available in their heart language. Fulfulde Caka is the largest of these language groups, spoken by over 11 million people primarily in Nigeria. The smallest is Yucuna, with 1,800 speakers.
Faith Comes By Hearing remains committed to the mission of making God's Word available to everyone in their heart language and are encouraged that supporters continue to help make this possible.
"Whether it be through resources, technology, our talented and dedicated staff, or ministry partners from all over the world - God's provision continues to make our work possible," states Jerry Jackson, FCBH founder and president.
Jackson has seen the growth of a small tape-lending library established in 1972 to what is now the world's largest resource of digital Bible text, audio and video. Collectively known as the Digital Bible Platform, Faith Comes By Hearing offers free access to this digital collection of Scripture via streaming, downloads and podcasts, while the Bible.is and Deaf Bible.is apps for mobile devices offer access to God's Word right from the palm of your hand.
For those areas that do not yet have regular access to the Internet or mobile devices, Faith Comes By Hearing continues to reach out by providing Audio New Testaments on solar-powered Proclaimers for listening groups. More than 325,000 Proclaimers are literally proclaiming the Gospel around the world.
The ministry's goal is to record and provide access to the Word of God in every translated language, making the fulfillment of the Great Commission a reality in this generation.
