Colporteurs

Faithful Hands and Feet
The Faith Comes By Hearing program is introduced to churches and villages through indigenous workers called colporteurs. Colporteur is a French word that literally means "a person who carries the Word of God." Faith Comes By Hearing colporteurs are indigenous church workers who know the culture and language of the region. They oversee listening programs in rural villages, communities, slums, and other hard-to-reach areas. Colporteurs will travel on foot, bicycle, canoe, motorcycle, or any other means available to reach these communities with the Word of God in Audio!
A Colporteur’s Responsibilities:
- Start 50 or more Faith Comes By Hearing church or village listening programs each year.
- Encourage the churches to use Audio Bibles for evangelism and church planting.
- Help the listening groups acquire printed Bibles so they may increase reading skills while hearing the Word.
- Follow up with listening groups to assure effectiveness and to gather testimonies.
