God's Word in Audio - Testimonies

Faith Comes By Hearing associates gather information and testimonies about what God is doing in and through Audio Bible listening programs in heart languages around the world.

Program Progress

The program in Tanzania has made progress as dynamic new ministry partner leaders in the country have lined up school program workers from five provinces: Arusha, Dar-es-Salaam, Mwanza, Mbeya, and Zanzibar. Seventy staff members and volunteers are overseeing the Audio Bible listening program for schools in these areas.

Bible Society of Tanzania General Secretary Dr. Mkunga Mtingele, FCBH Coordinator, and Scripture Union Tanzania managers are working in coordination on a school program, along with ten full-time FCBH school workers and ten Scripture Union (SU) workers.

Others involved in the school program are fifty Bible Society volunteers and Christian youth organizations associated with participating schools, including Christ’s Ambassadors Students Fellowship of Tanzania.

May God bless you for your support of these vital programs, which will bless thousands of children in East Africa with the pure Word of God in their heart language.

Scripture Union Partnership

The school program in Tanzania is also making excellent progress despite many changes taking place.

Providentially, the Scripture Union Tanzania Board of Directors and the acting Secretary, Pastor Emmens B. Mwamakula, quickly affirmed their support for the Audio Bible listening program, keeping the project moving forward.

Swahili Proclaimers for the Schools

Five hundred Swahili Proclaimers are in use  in Tanzania for the grant-sponsored Audio Bible listening programs in the schools.

Tanzania Scripture Union Worker Training

In February 2007, training was conducted for ten Scripture Union Tanzania workers chosen to spearhead the FCBH Audio Bible listening programs in their country’s schools. They learned about the vision of Faith Comes By Hearing and how to establish and follow up on Audio Bible listening programs within the schools.

Kenya and Tanzania Schools Project

School children gather to hear the Word of GodScripture Union workers and school volunteers in Kenya and Tanzania were trained by the FCBH special projects coordinator. After teaching them about the Faith Comes By Hearing Audio New Testament listening program and training them on using the Proclaimer, 810 school programs are now underway!

The objectives of the project were to start 1,000 listening groups in Kenya and Tanzania, 500 in each school system, with 125,000 listeners in those listening groups. As of February 2008, 540 Kenyan teachers were trained on Faith Comes By Hearing, Proclaimers, and how to teach children Biblical principles; a Kenyan school program was launched in Nairobi last September; 440 listening programs were established in Scripture Union clubs in Kenyan schools; 370 listening programs began in Tanzanian schools; and the final touches were put on 130 Tanzanian school programs.

School girl enjoys the Word of GodSome of the wonderful changes occurring as a result of the children listening to God’s Word are that children are paying more attention during the listening sessions and are enjoying hearing the Scriptures; listeners ask questions and gain a better understanding of the Scriptures; attendance is rising in Bible clubs that use the FCBH program; more teachers are showing an interest in Scripture Union activities; and additional groups have been started sharing Proclaimers with churches.
