Jesus' Promises are Real

Rana is a young man, raised as a Christian, who neither studied the Bible regularly nor applied it to his life. After listening to the Proclaimer®, his faith and understanding were strengthened to the extent that he came to accept Jesus' promise that believers will do even greater things than these (John 14). In this spirit, he boldly prayed over a neighbor who was suddenly struck by a fever and chest pain, and she was healed after one hour of intense intercession. As a result, she and four others from her family accepted Christ as their Savior. Rana shared afterward, "Yes, I believe faith comes by hearing."

God Releases Burdens

Maria used to worship idols, sacrificing animals to them. The practice was that the leg of the sacrificed animal was left to feed the dogs and foxes, but because of her poverty, Maria would keep the legs to feed herself and her family.

When her husband became ill and died, she and her son were left to fend for themselves. Maria's son would go out daily to look for work in order to provide for their needs. There was no one else to help them.

One day while Maria's son was working he met some people who were handing out tracts. They gave him a tract and shared the Gospel with him. He went home for the day to find his mother crying from her despair. He told her about the Lord and said, "He is the real God. If you believe, He will save us from all our burdens." He also told her that he now believes in the Lord and encouraged his mom to believe as well.

A little bit of faith began to rise up in Maria's heart.

She says, "We removed all of our idols from our house and also from our hearts. God me the opportunity to share the Gospel with people like me. After my pastor told me about the Faith Comes By Hearing Audio New Testament in Banjara, I began using it to conduct listening sessions wherever I go. The Lord is doing many miracles among our Banjara people through this Audio Bible, and is strengthening our innocent people in faith. I am very thankful to the Lord for giving us a very, very precious gift."

A Healing

Helen was at home when she fell and injured her leg. She was unable to walk, but came to church before service started to listen to the Proclaimer. While she listened, she prayed to herself for a healing. When the service was over she testified to all that Jesus had healed her through His Living Word.

A Life Changed for Eternity

Mrs. G. is 38 years old, but only studied up to the fifth grade and so is unable to read. She is a Hindu believer. When the church began the Proclaimer listening program, she came to the church to sit with the Christian believers to hear the Word of God. She said, “I do not have any hope in my present life for after death. When I came to hear the Word on the Proclaimer, I felt that this is the only way for me. I started to come regularly and asked the pastor questions. He helps me to know more. Now I do not have any tension in my present life for my eternal life. I believe in Jesus and want to receive Him as my personal Savior. Now I feel blessed because I know the Savior, Christ – the true way of life. I am very glad to submit myself to the Lord Jesus Christ.”

I Don’t Listen to My Family

The Faith Comes By Hearing listening program is held every Saturday from 8:00am to 9:00am, with approximately 20 people. Here is one testimony:
“My name is Muhammed and I am a new believer. As a village doctor I used to visit all the families in our village. One day a few years ago I visited the home of a pastor where I saw a picture of Jesus. I asked him about Jesus and Jesus became my friend though my life was not good enough. Four months ago the pastor told me about the Proclaimer. I was interested and went to the church to listen.

“There were some others from my community who also came to listen to the Bible. After some days, I started to listen every day in the pastor’s home. I realized that the Bible is the only true word of God. I feel peace in my heart and started to believe in Christ.

So, I do not listen to my family; I go to the church and pastor’s home to listen to the Proclaimer.

“I felt sad when I heard that Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I understand that I am a sinner and I need to confess all of my sins to Jesus Christ because only He can forgive my sins and give me salvation and eternal life. Though it was difficult to be a Christian from my traditional background, I received Jesus as my personal savior. Now there is some pressure from my family and community, but I believe I am a child of God and He will protect me forever, as He protects me from eternal death. I want to thank the Bangladesh Bible Society for giving us the Proclaimer because without it I would never read the Bible and I would not have eternal life.”
